COP26 Glasgow Review and Discussion
After diplomats, scientists, lobbyists, activists, artists, the media, politicians and businesspeople gathered in Glasgow for COP26, it might be easy to dismiss the entire affair. That would be a mistake. The UNFCC and its COPs, for all their flaws, play a crucial part in a process that is historic and vital: the removal of the fundamental limit on humanity flourishing as a result of our dependence on fossil fuels.
To understand the results and issues, we turn to experts who were there or tracked the output of Glasgow closely. On December 16 RCAT Network Global Forum has a three-person panel focused on Glasgow. As we approach the rest of the 2020s, we all need to understand the commitments countries made at COP26 so that we can hold them to their promises.
The panel will include: Karen Kendrick-Hands (ESRAG), Elizabeth Bagley (SEI) and Rick Wayman (Fdn for Climate Restoration). The moderator for this event will be Gary White (Climate Reality Project).
