Patrick Henry, in the runup to the revolution, wrote:
“It is natural for people to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and instead listen to the song of that siren (telling us all is well). For my part, whatever the anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it.” We must not look away from climate change. We must change course and be role models of responsible action . . . or our children and grand-children will never forgive us for ruining their world.
