This is the Jan. 2021 Climate Update.
I hope it will truly be a Happy New Year for climate action!
Climate in the News:

- 2020 ties 2016 for the hottest year ever recorded. It will keep getting hotter until we bring down CO2 emissions.

- Natural disasters costing the insurance industry big money and big headaches
- Sea level rise is underestimated. The rate of rise is increasing. It will be increasingly bad for coastal cities/economies/people.
Good Climate News:
- Big batteries, with greater range, are coming! Will boost EV sales
- Blackrock, the world’s biggest money mgr, tells companies to take action on climate change . . . or else!
- GM ramps up its plans for 30 new EVs in the next 5 yrs, and to have prices the average American can afford.
Actions we can all take to make a difference:
- Become better informed by subscribing to the free on-line The Daily Climate, which delivers an email with climate headlines. You can then click on those you are interested in, to get the whole article or research paper. See www.dailyclimate.org
- Consider a New Year resolution to take more action on climate, for the sake of your kids and grandkids.
- What can you do? Lots! Start with the ideas in the attached “Rising CO2 …” pc.
